Abibifahodie and blessings to the ancestors.
It’s Deshawn, back from a long hiatus. Its been a “journey” for lack of better words but here to provide some updates.
For the last year or so I been working on producing a “conscious” rap album which features my production and collaborating with like minded Pan Afrikanist artists with the goal to raise the political consciousness of Afrikan people by using hip hop to become aware of our history and what led to the fall of the race and Motherland in recent centuries.
I didn’t get to truly collaborate with artists as much as I originally planned but I feel this body of work will still become in the long run an entry level musical course for those interested in what the historical causes of our current conditions as a race collectively and the psychological effects on us today.
Think of it as a John Henrik Clarke style lecture in rap format.
So if you are interested, the first single is to be released in July and full length album to be released in August.
Also, as far as the political content regarding OPP, I will be resuming regular monthly video releases in September once I finish rolling out the album.
Stay tuned.
